  • Charge controller: This component will control the working process and it will prevent the battery from over discharge or overcharge.
  • Inverter: Since solar energy is produced in the form DC, it has to be converted into AC and hence people can use it. For this purpose, the inverter is used.

The solar lights are working with the help of photovoltaic effect. In general people are able to see a dark panel on the top of the solar lights. It is the solar cell which is the most significant part of the solar light and the solar cell is also known as the photovoltaic. This is the imperative component which converts the sunlight into electric current. Basically the solar cell will have number of crystalline silicone layers along with the chemicals. These elements are able to create multiple layers of positively charged spaces and negatively charged electrons. These are having the most important role in the solar lights.

When the sunlight passes into the solar cell, it will stimulate the electrons which are negatively charged and pushes those electrons into positively charged spaces. Once it is done the positively charges spaces will transfer the stream of electrons as electricity. The wires which are embedded in the solar cell will transmit the current to the battery. The battery will store the electricity throughout the day. The conversion of sunlight will be stopped when evening comes. In that time, the photoreceptor which is present in the solar light will detect the darkness and hence the light will be turned on. Now the battery will supply the electricity to the lamp.
